Joanna Clark is a trained, licensed and certified Gentle Sleep Coach ℠. Joanna is a member of the International Association of Child Sleep Consultants and she is a graduate from Kim West’s Gentle Sleep Coach ℠ Program, which is currently the most comprehensive and professional sleep certification program available. Joanna has been trained and interacted with some of the top experts in the field of sleep science. She is proud of her 2012 placement on the list of Start Up Nation’s Leading Moms in Business. Joanna enthusiastically pursues all ongoing education and training on topics related to child and family health and wellness.
Joanna is an honors graduate of Scripps College in Claremont, California and has 12 years experience as a top performer in corporate sales and 8 years of motherhood that includes active community and school volunteerism. Joanna currently resides with her family in San Diego, CA, but is available to work with families all over the country. With her keen interest in sleep science, her strong problem-solving skills, Joanna offers a holistic and gentle approach to the sleep coaching process. She has a motivating, professional, directive style of coaching. With the Gentle Sleep Coach training program philosophy, the Kim West mentorship, as well as great patience and empathy, she will gently guide and assist you in creating solutions that promote and preserve healthy sleep habits for your family.
Parents assume sleeping is a developmental milestone that comes naturally, just like walking, but, in reality, healthy sleep habits are actually a learned skill. In parenthood, we coach our children in many ways throughout their lives. So, just like reading and riding a bike, it is important for a parent to acknowledge and feel empowered to coach their children on how to independently and peacefully go to sleep and stay asleep.
Joanna is very passionate about coaching and collaborating closely with parents as they find the best solution to assist their children. Joanna’s belief is that every child is unique and can benefit from an individualized sleep plan that is both gentle and achievable. Joanna works with families with children nearing 6 months to 5 years of age. She also offers sleep-shaping for newborns, 0-5 months.
